Introduction to Kata containers
Organised by
Vladislav Kurz
The backend of Docker uses mainly namespaces, cgroups, capabilities, and some more stuff to create and separate containers from each other. This subsystem is called runc and implements the Open Container Interface OCI. If you don't trust this mechanism, you might try Kata Containers. It implemrnts the OCI spec bymeans of a very thin hypervisor layer. After a short introduction to the technology behind Kata, we will explore how to install, configure, and use it in a Docker framework. We could do some benchmarking, too.
